After almost 24 years with Agfert, Derryn Stringer is moving on to a new chapter. Although he is stepping away from his role as Agfert’s sales
manager, he will not be stepping away from the ag industry.
A couple of interesting stats from his time at Agfert include a daily commute total of about 700,000 kilometres, and a rapidly increased amount of imported fertiliser entering and exiting the Balaklava shed, which totalled around 1.5 million tonnes over his time there.
Farmers gathered at Balaklava’s Agfert depot on Friday afternoon for a barbecue to thank Derryn and wish him well with the next phase of his career.
According to Agfert’s managing director, Grant Jaeschke, the company’s focus will remain unchanged: providing a reliable supply of fertiliser; quality products; and a high level of customer service and support.
Derryn will continue promoting green and blue urea additives which inhibit the breakdown of urea in the field making it far less volatile.
This enables farmers to spread fertiliser much earlier safe in the knowledge that this expensive nitrogen product is not lost via volatilisation to the atmosphere before a sufficient rain event occurs.
