Fall in love with Shakespeare at Sevenhill

One of Clare Valley’s prominent wineries turns into the Globe Theatre on Saturday, February 24 as Sevenhill Cellars and Butterfly Theatre present ‘Shakespeare on Love’.

Butterfly Theatre, a South Australian based theatre company, is promising an unforgettable evening of romance, wit and live music on the enchanting lawns of Sevenhill Cellars.

‘Shakespeare on Love’ will feature performances of William Shakespeare’s finest scenes, sonnets and songs with the universal and timeless themes of romantic love, its trials and tribulations.

Butterfly Theatre is thrilled to bring ‘Shakespeare on Love’ to the Clare Valley for the first time, and to Sevenhill Cellars which has decades of experience in providing quality outdoor Shakespeare performances for patrons.

The production features many talented and experienced actors and musicians, including director Tony Knight who was former head of acting at National Institute of Dramatic Art for more than 20 years.

It will include live musical performances from musicians Callum Logan, Emma Luker, Matthew Lykos and Jodie O’Regan, who will play a mixture of original compositions and arrangements of Shakespearean songs, with the premiere of some of O’Regan’s original compositions, themed around love.

A combination of theatre, the Bard’s timeless words and live Shakespearean music will be different to the usual display of Shakespeare’s work, but the combination of his pieces matched with music is sure to delight audiences.

‘Shakespeare on Love’ is on for one night only, tickets are on sale at www.sevenhill.com.au/experiences

The Plains Producer has a double pass to ‘Shakespeare on Love’ to give away, please call Leanne on 8862 1977 to enter into the draw.
