Fix your garden needs at Fitzy’s

Fitzy’s Natives and horticultural services will be back bigger than ever at this year’s SA Autumn Garden Festival, offering locally grown, high quality native plants.

Specialising in tube stock, Fitzy’s natives the price is much cheaper than your pots and very affordable for people to buy.

Father and son team Brett and Brayden Fitzpatrick make up part of a team with more than 100 years of horticultural experience, and a strong knowledge of dryland native plants.

Brett, who has 35 years experience as a horticulturalist, said “we service from Gawler all the way north, so we know the region extremely well and can help you find the best plants to suit your needs.”

Also offering horticulture services, the Fitzy’s team are able to supply quite large scale landscape and maintenance jobs.

“We have a big affiliation with SA Water, supplying over 50,000 plants to them and Port Pirie Council over the course of this year,” Brett said.

With two sites, and the ability to grow up to 100,000 plants at once, Fitzy’s can cover any job, big or small.

“We do a large range, and have grown up to 150 species at once with a large range of Australian native plants,” Brett said.

Those attending the SA Autumn Garden Festival will have no trouble finding Fitzy’s, who will have an extensive range on site to choose from, with a particular focus on native bush foods.

If there is something you need, or advice on what to plant, where and when, the Fitzy’s team are happy to help.

As for general tips, Brett says mulch mulch mulch is the key at this time of year.

“Keep up the water, and make sure you mulch,” Brett said.

“It’s something I believe in, and we always tell everyone after you plant to mulch to reduce evaporation, and suppress the weeds.

“Make sure you keep up the water this Autumn as we may not get a break in rain til June. The great thing is the soil temperatures are going to be a little bit warmer, so it’s a great time to plant, we’ve broken the back of the heatwave.”
